The white dove represents the Holy Spirit, the God of Love, who is showering His gifts to awaken an awareness, an understanding and a longing to bring to fruition Jesus’ prayer for unity at the Last Supper (John 17:20-23). The gifts of love inflame the heart with a desire to embrace the Cross, which is the symbol of the highest and deepest expression of love. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends (John 15:13).

Jesus, Mary and Joseph (JMJ) are the model of love:

“Behold the Handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to Your Word.” Luke 1:38 (Mary) He obeyed and took Mary as his wife. Matthew 1:24 (Joseph)
“Not my will but Yours be done.” Mark 14:36 (Jesus)

Jesus, Mary and Joseph were united in the Incarnational - Redemptive mission with one mind, heart and spirit. Their family life reflected the Life of unity present in the Blessed Trinity. Thus, they are witnesses showing us the way to be a source of unity, and even greater, to be a person living a life of unity with and in the Blessed Trinity and all creation.
